These genuine Bilstein front shocks fit the front of Mopar A-bodies. They’re steel body shocks that BAC highly recommends, because they give a good ride and reliable operation on the street and the open track, even with upsized torsion bars.
Why we recommend Bilstein front shocks
These are monotube shocks with a high-pressure gas charge. A dividing piston keeps the oil and gas apart, so the oil can expand as it heats up without foaming. Meanwhile, heat moves from the oil into the steel body, where it dissipates. As a result, the shocks keep their damping as temperatures climb, whether you’re on a long highway run or a hot track day.
Upgraded torsion bars, sway bars and bushings all ask more of your shocks. Basic twin-tube shocks can fade under that load. These, on the other hand, keep the tires planted and the body settled, so you get more grip and a more comfortable ride at the same time.
What you get
- 2 shocks per package (front)
- Steel body monotube design
- Street-friendly ride with track-ready control
Note: front shocks no longer include boots, thanks to an improved seal. Boots are available at extra cost.
Installation is a direct replacement for the original front shocks. Also, replace worn shock bushings and mounting hardware at the same time, and torque everything with the car at ride height. For the best results, pair these Bilstein front shocks with our torsion bars and matching shocks at the other end of the car.
International orders will receive a dedicated shipping invoice.
Not sure whether you need front shocks, rear shocks or both? Replacing all four at once gives the most balanced feel, because the front and rear work as a team. Also, old shocks often look fine on the outside but have lost much of their damping inside. If the car floats over dips, bounces after bumps or dives hard under braking, it’s time.
